Preparing for Travel

  • A passport with at least 6 months validity;
  • Have been in a Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) approved country for 21 days or more;
  • Been fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the World Health Organisation (WHO);
  • Have booked and purchased return air travel;
  • Have booked and paid for accommodation, and required RT-PCR test/s at a Samui Extra Plus or SHA Plus hotel;
  • Have purchased medical insurance with COVID-19 treatment coverage of at least US$100,000;
  • Have tested negative for COVID-19 no longer than 72 hours before travel.

Applying for the Samui Plus Programme

Providing you meet all the above points, you can go to  https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/  to apply for a Certificate of Entry (COE).

Arrival in Samui

  • Days 1-3 (hotel-based): upon receiving a negative results of the first RT-PCR test, travellers may leave their hotel room but are required to stay within the premises of the hotel.
  • Days 4-7 (sealed route): travellers are allowed to travel within specified routes/travel programmes on Koh Samui. Traveller must undergo second RT-PCR test on 6th or 7th day.
  • Days 8-14 (relaxed): upon receiving negative results of the second RT-PCR test, travellers may travel within Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.
  • Travellers must install and use journey-tracing application (turn on GPS) as prescribed by the Thai Government
  • Upon leaving Koh Samui to other parts of Thailand after 14 days, travellers must provide proof of 14 days of stay in Koh Samui/Khon Phangan/Koh Tao and three RT-PCR test results.
